Dr. Corey D. Sturdivant (Dr. Stu) is the senior leader and founder of Champions Christian Community Church. He is a USAF veteran and a lifelong student. Dr. Stu holds a Master of Arts in Religion with an emphasis on discipleship and a Doctorate in Ministry (Pastoral Counseling) from Liberty University. As founder of the Champions Leadership Institute, he is passionate about addressing mental health disparities in the African American community through church-based counseling centers. His popular sermon series, "Since You Won't Go to Counseling," is currently being transcribed into book form to include additional insights and tools to help people understand and overcome the challenges preventing them from living the life God intended. Dr. Stu has been married to the love of his life, Pastor Jen, since September 2000. They have two adult children following in his footsteps as military service members and mental health studies.
Jennifer K. Sturdivant, co-founded Champions Christian Community Church (C4), holds a degree in Human Resources from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Liberty University. After eight years of military service, Lady J decided to separate from her successful career to care for her family. She currently manages several federal programs and directs ministry resources for C4. Her exemplary stewardship has led the ministry to pay off 17 acres of land and purchase and renovate a second location in less than two years of the ministry replant in Clarksville, TN. Passionate about Christian Education for our children, Lady J has been involved in children's ministry since her children were old enough to attend. She is a seasoned ministry worker and an excellent teacher of The Gospel. She loves to cook and travel around the world to collect new recipes that Dr. Stu is always happy to try. Lady J is a proud native of Denver, Colorado.
Champions Christian Community Church is a Bible-based, non-denominational congregation with a simple vision of making disciples. We do this by making disciples. Our core values include:
Honoring God through worship,
Humbling ourselves through prayer, &
Helping others through services.
Located in a vibrant military community close to local colleges and universities, we are more than just a church. We are a home away from home for many young families and individuals. We aim to see people leave better off than when they first walked through our doors. We equip people with information, knowledge, and Biblical principles that bring holistic healing to every area of their lives.
If you are new to the area or looking for a church home, we encourage you to prayerfully consider being our special guest. If you decide to become part of the family, we encourage you to get involved by serving and joining one or more of our small groups, better known as huddles. It is not good that anyone should be alone. Fortunately, you don't have to be. You can use the Contact Us page on our website and let us know you're coming. We'll save your seat.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, who lived a sinless life in order to be the perfect sacrifice for humanity's sins.
We believe his death on the cross paid the price for our sins, and his resurrection gave us power over sin. We believe his imminent return for his church will save us from the presence of sin.
We believe that baptism is not just a ritual but an outward expression of an inward reality. It symbolizes our transformation, our death, burial, and resurrection into a new life with Christ Jesus.
We practice Holy Communion in remembrance of the finished works of Christ.
We believe in the 5-fold ministry gifts as well as the ministry of the saints in accordance with Ephesians 4:11-13.
We believe in making disciples of Christ in accordance with Matthew 28:18-20.
